I am also convinced that all Royals have a bit of sloppy action, especially when it comes to the return.

While I might not choose Zeppelin III as my one favorite record of theirs, the drums and -spefically- the bass drum sound on "Since I've Been Loving You" is my absolute favorite Bonham sound. Makes 99.9% of all modern bass drum sounds sound even worse than they do without comparing them to that song. (I'm not a fan of most drum sounds from the early seventies to the present day.)

  2. I love that you can hear the squeek of the bass drum pedal, on that Zeppelin track.

    Go Bonzo.

There's also a fill, on the oft-touted When the Levee Breaks, in the last quarter (specifically at 5:20) that just blows my syncopated socks off.

Wow. Good call on Zeppelin III, though I can't take it over IV.

Epic Zeppelin moment, in the context of the whole song: No Quarter, 3:50. Dig it.
